CMF's letter to the editor of the Washington Post: 

There was something slightly hypocritical in Ruth Marcus's column on the ethics cases pending before Congress ["House of entitlement," op-ed, Aug. 4]. She acknowledged the public "misperception" that "most lawmakers" are "heedless of ethics rules." Yet The Post and others in the media perpetuate that myth.

My organization has worked closely with members of Congress and staff for more than 30 years and found nearly every lawmaker and staffer we've worked with to be dedicated public servants, striving for the good of their constituents. Of course there are ethical lapses in Congress, just as there are in any field, including journalism.

Congressional Management Foundation Names New Leader

WASHINGTON – The Congressional Management Foundation Board of Directors has named a new president and CEO for the nonpartisan organization serving Congress for over 30 years. Bradford Fitch will succeed Beverly Bell as the leader of the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF). Ms. Bell served as executive director and more recently as president of CMF since 2006.

Despite Standouts, New CMF Study Reveals Growing Digital Divide in Congress

The Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) bestowed four Congressional member offices with Platinum Awards—the highest honor for its annual Gold Mouse Awards, which recognizes the best Web sites on Capitol Hill. The awards were released as part of CMF’s “Partnership for a More Perfect Union,” a report that found an increasing “digital divide” in the quality of Web sites on Capitol Hill with an almost equal number of sites scoring either an “A” or an “F.”
