program overview


This course is for staff who are new to writing constituent mail and need to know the basics. You will:

  • Understand the role of constituent communications in an office
  • Differentiate between types of incoming constituent correspondence
  • Apply grammar and punctuation rules in a legislative environment
  • Perform legislative research and analysis
  • Review and analyze examples of constituent responses

This program is conducted by the Congressional Management Foundation through a competitive bid contract with the Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives.
